How to copy any DVD to DVD±R(W)
Ripping Multi-Layered DVDs
Since multi-layered DVDs contain more data than we can burn to a DVD-R disc, we'll need to throw away some of the data, which is covered next in encoding the movie. In order to do this, we have to save the files from the disc. Because of the way the files are saved, you can't directly copy them as you would copy other files on the system. This is why you need to use DVD Decrypter. Set the mode to read files by choosing "Mode" -> "File". You'll see something like this:

Make sure the destination drive has enough space. This will probably take around 10 Gb for the raw data. On top of that, you'll need about 4.3 Gb for the encoded movie, which we'll make next. With all the files selected, press the DVD to hard drive button. This may take a while to run. On my drive, ripping at or about 10x, this takes between 15 and 20 minutes, though your mileage may vary. After you click the button, you'll see something like this:

After it's done saving the tracks, you'll get a success message:

You're now ready to encode the movie.
